Icelandic woman, daughter of Erik the Red who figured prominently in the Norse exploration of North America, sister of Leif Erikson. Remembered through Norse sagas and history as a tougher warrior than all the viking men army that sailed with her, even pregnant she fought to defend Iceland and gain trade routes for her country.
